FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes, as part of our roofing services, we will handle the removal and disposal of your old roofing materials. Our team will ensure that the site is clean and free of debris throughout your project and when it is completed.
The lifespan of a new roof depends on several factors, including the type of roofing material used and the environmental conditions in your area. On average, a well-maintained roof can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years.
A flat roof is installed at a low angle and typically has a minimal slope. It is commonly found on commercial buildings or modern residential designs. In contrast, a pitched roof has a steeper slope and is more commonly seen in traditional residential homes.
  • Missing shingles

  • leaks

  • lots of granules at the end of downspouts or in the gutters

  • loose or rusted flashing

  • shingles that lift up during storms

  • cracked or curling shingles

  • your neighbors are getting their roofs replaced; your roof is older: shingle roofs older than 20 years should be inspected

  • slate tiles are slipping or missing

  • you can see daylight from the roof inside the attics

If you notice any issues with your roof, call us for an inspection to identify problems and the condition of your roof.

Roof leaks can cause anxiety and be frustrating. Once you notice a roof leak, the first thing to do is try to contain it. You can do this by putting a bowl, trash can, bucket, or plastic under the leak. Then call us for an inspection to find the source of the leak and a solution to fix it. Sometimes roofs are older or in such poor condition that the best fix is to replace the entire roof. However, many times roof leaks can be repaired to avoid replacing the entire roof.

Most of our repairs are guaranteed for 2-5 years. Factors such as the age and condition of the roof and the issue being repaired impact the guarantee. Sometimes, if the roof is newer, we can guarantee the repair for 10-15 years or longer. Some roofs are aged or in such poor condition that we can only offer temporary repairs that typically last 6 months to a year; but we don’t guarantee temporary repairs.

Yes! We can flash any new exhaust fan roof vents, plumbing vents, B-vents, etc on an existing roof.

Most roofs only take 1 day to replace. This includes tear off, installing the roof, and cleanup. Some roofs are larger, have a steeper pitch, or have a lot of damaged wood to replace, which can cause it to take more than one day to replace.

  • he dump trailer is parked in the driveway at 730-8

  • begin tearing off 730-8

  • the supply truck arrives and loads the material between 8-12

  • once the roof is torn off, material is loaded, and most of the debris is cleaned up, the crew takes lunch

  • after lunch, the crew begins installing the roof

  • one or two workers begin cleaning the rest of the debris and running magnets to pick up nails

  • after the roof is installed, the crew blows off the roof, cleans out the gutters, and finishes cleaning any debris left

  • the dump trailer is picked up the same day or the following morning

  • an inspection and final cleanup is done by the manager, to include taking pictures of the roof, running a magnet to pick up nails, and double checking that everything is done correctly

No, in many cases a leaking roof is an isolated issue that can be fixed without replacing the entire roof. The age and condition of the roof, and the extent of the roof issue, really determine if it makes sense to repair or replace. We can provide multiple options for varying levels of fixes so that you can make an informed decision on what works best for you.

The dark stains and streaks on roofs are caused by algae, not mold. Besides being unsightly, the algae doesn’t actually cause any damage to the roof. A power washing company can apply a solution to your roof to clean off the algae.

It’s best to hire a power washing company to clean your roof. However, if you’re confident, you can do it yourself. A bleach water solution works well, but be careful not to damage the shingles with a pressure washer. Apply the solution across the entire roof with a hose or pressure washer on low, being sure to not spray water up the shingles. You can either rinse off the solution, or allow the rain to rinse. Either way, make sure that any plants around the house are rinsed off before and after cleaning the roof to prevent any damage to them.

Ice and water shield is an underlayment that sticks directly to the roof deck to add an additional layer of leak barrier. It is typically installed in valleys, around chimneys, skylights, slope transitions, and along the roof lines when drip edge is installed.

Drip edge is a type of flashing that goes along the roof lines to prevent ice dams during heavy or snow, as well as preventing animal intrusion in the attic.
